The Pookies isn’t
the kind of band which started up in high school, they were not friends,
they didn’t grow up together as neighbors or brothers and their
parents were not friends....
Spring 1999, The Pookies have been pretty much turned
towards the explosive Californian Punk Rock scene at their beginning (EP
“Dirty Flower” 2001, on the ring rec). Today they are definitely
closer to Propagandhi, Randy, Hot Water Music or the Foo Fighters.
The band played over 100 concerts in 5 years, a lot in France (Paris,
Bordeaux, Lyon…), in Switzerland (Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich…),
England (Exeter, Manchester..) and their music is very welcomed every
where they play either festivals, clubs or bars.
August 2005, the band spent less than 10 days at NSR studio to (finally)
come up with their first album « Stunts, Fights and Mariachies
». It will be released by Dirty Witch Rds (Sons of Buddha,
ISP) on October 25th 2005.
The Pookies is a three piece band with very different
characters in it. This is surely what makes it just like Rock’n
Roll....good.
